One Additional Step Adds Maximum Crunch To Your Air Fryer Breaded Okra
BY MOLLY HARRIS
Say goodbye to lackluster air-fried okra that's not crisp enough. You just need to add a simple extra step to your recipe for a perfectly crunchy, golden brown fried treat.
Try toasting your breading mixture before coating your okra. The already-crunchy, browned breading will add extra texture and color and won't come out soggy.
Begin by slicing your okra into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry to remove any excess moisture. Then toast the breading in a pan with a bit of oil until golden brown.
Allow the breading to cool enough to handle, and toss the okra pieces in the mixture until they are evenly coated. The added step also helps the breading stick to the okra better.
To ensure the best texture, place your okra in a single layer in your air fryer, give them a light spritz of oil to encourage browning, and toss them a few times during cooking.
