Olive Oil Is The Easy Way To Make Silverware Look Sparkly Clean Again
BY CATHERINE NYORANI
If you ever notice stains or tarnish on your fine silverware, or you just want to keep its glow and shine intact, use an ingredient already in your pantry: olive oil.
Olive oil will restore your silverware's shimmer in no time, and you can use it in different ways. Firstly, you can gently rub the oil into the silver using a cloth to polish it.
Another method is to combine olive oil with lemon juice. Mix a teaspoon of olive oil, half a cup of lemon juice, and warm water, then soak your silverware for half an hour.
Olive oil can also be paired with vinegar. Rub the oil on the silverware, similar to the first method, then grab a separate cloth, dip it in vinegar, and wipe for a final cleaning.
As a bonus, olive oil can also act as a protective layer on the silver. Coating your clean silverware with a little oil helps prevent it from losing its shine in the first place.
