Oddly Enough One Of The Healthiest US States Also Eats The Most Candy

Per the National Confectioners Association, California eats the most candy in America, spending $7.7 billion a year on candy. Though it's the most populated state, this is bizarre.
That's because it's a wellness-focused region. Studies analyzing factors like smoking and obesity rates show California is one of the five states with the healthiest populations.
Evidently, you can be healthy as long as you're good at moderation with sweets. Still, California has 39,663,800 residents, so spending billions on candy is somewhat explicable.
