Oatly Vs Chobani: Which Company Makes The Tastiest Oat Milk?
BY Julia Duda
Oatly Oat Milk?
Though Oatly may seem like a newer oat milk brand in the U.S., the company started in Sweden decades ago. The brand offers numerous oat milk-based products.
Chobani Oat Milk?
Though most people likely recognize Chobani as a Greek yogurt company, the brand has expanded and created a lineup of oat milk and related products.
Where To Buy
Oatly's Oatfinder can help you find stores that sell cartons of the milk and cafes that use the brand in coffee drinks. At Whole Foods, a 64-ounce carton costs $6.19 each.
Chobani's Where To Buy page offers a similarly handy function, pointing you to stores like Target or Walgreens. The 52-ounce Chobani cartons at Whole Foods went for $4.69.
Chobani Original
Chobani's original oat milk is a little disappointing at first, but the oat flavor becomes more apparent the longer you sip, though it's still a little bit subdued.
The milk tasted very creamy, but it had a bit of an acidic aftertaste. Despite having 7 grams of sugar, the milk may have benefited from a touch of extra sweetness.
Oatly Original
Oatly's original oat milk has a nice, smooth flavor to it. Like Chobani's original oat milk, the oaty flavor becomes more prominent the longer you sip the milk.
Though the two milks are similar, the Oatly version is slightly better. It tasted more full-bodied and fleshed out, with a certain richness and nice balance of flavor.
