Most Of The World's Pork Comes From This Country

Pork has been a part of the human diet for a very long time, since pigs were one of the first animals to be domesticated with the intent of being butchered. This meat is widely consumed in the Americas and Eastern Asia as pork chops, pork belly, bacon, ribs, and more, but the top pork producer comes from the latter region.
China produces the most pork worldwide, putting out 36 million metric tons in 2020, but this country is also the largest importer of pork from the United States, showing that their citizens just can't get enough pig. Pork is essential for countless Chinese dishes, and no part of the pig is wasted, including the livers, blood, skin, and feet.
China Dialogue reports evidence of domesticated pigs being raised in the country over 9,000 years ago. Pigs were easy to raise and beneficial to farming crops because of their manure, and their domestication helped was integral to the life and wellness of empires; today, the pig still symbolizes wealth and prosperity in China.
