Make Slicing Layered Desserts A Breeze With This Cake Hack
BY JULIA HOLLAND
For a low-maintenance and fool-proof way to cut cake, you need a long, serrated knife, a cake pan, a cooling rack, and cardboard cake circles.
When the cake is cool enough, use the same cake pan as a leveler and measurement marker. Stacked cardboard cake circles bound by plastic wrap will serve as a platform for the cake.
For this hack, put the cake circles into the cake pan on top so half its length is exposed. The pan’s rim acts as a guiding bumper where you’ll cut the cake into two even halves.
After the cake is cut into halves, use the cooling rack to remove the top layer by placing the cake upside down. Repeat this step
for the bottom half of the cake and cake circles.
