Make Creamier Coffee From Reusable Nespresso Pods With One Extra Step

To make your coffee less bitter, more nuanced, smoother, and creamier, consider upgrading your reusable Nespresso pod game by performing a pre-extraction, a.k.a. a pre-infusion.
Once you've filled the reusable pod, press the extraction button. As soon as you see the first drop spill into your mug, hit the button again to stop the machine from working.
This will leave the hot water permeating the coffee grounds in the pod. After two to eight seconds, hit the extraction button and allow the machine to complete its brewing cycle.
Forcing the machine to soak the grounds in hot water minimizes the risk of channeling, which happens when water forms a divot through the grounds instead of evenly soaking.
