Leftover Spinach-Artichoke Dip? Make A Sophisticated Grilled Cheese
By STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Using spinach-artichoke dip in different recipes is nothing new, and this popular snack can be turned into other foods like sandwiches and pasta. If you want an upgraded version of a basic sandwich with some spinach-artichoke dip as a condiment, try using leftover dip in a delicious, nutritious, extra-cheesy grilled cheese.
You can use leftover spinach-artichoke dip in a grilled cheese in a number of ways. You can use the dip and only the dip as a filling, which isn't much different from putting vegetables in a standard grilled cheese, and since the dip is gooier than cheese slices, it may take even less time to get nice and melted.
If you think a sandwich made with only dip is a bit too much, add your spinach and artichoke dip on top of your choice of cheese for a less dip-heavy grilled cheese. If you go this route, choose a cheese that melts well and holds up against the dip, like provolone or swiss, and avoid gooey cheeses like Brie or cream cheese.
