Keep This Expert Timing Tip In Mind When Cooking Beef Ribs Vs Pork

Beef ribs are just as delicious as pork ribs, but that doesn't mean you can treat them the same. The size and fat content difference means that beef ribs need to cook for longer.
A rack of pork ribs needs to be smoked for about four to five hours between 225 and 250 degrees F, while beef rib racks need to spend six to eight hours at 250 to 275 degrees F.
This may seem like a huge time investment, but as chef Dennis Littley explains, "Rushing the cooking process can result in tough, chewy meat."
If you're short on time, separate the beef ribs and smoke them individually at 225 to 250 degrees F for five hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 205 degrees F.
