John Lennon Discovered His Favorite Cocktail During The 'Lost Weekend'

With so much pressure around their partnership, John Lennon and Yoko Ono broke up in
the summer of 1973, marking
the start of Lennon's
18-month-long Lost Weekend.
During the Lost Weekend, on March 12, 1974, Lennon was at The Troubadour nightclub in Hollywood where musician Harry Nilsson introduced him to the Brandy Alexander cocktail.
The Brandy Alexander, which eventually became Lennon's favorite cocktail, was made with brandy or cognac, creme de cacao, and cream. He often called them milkshakes.
Lennon became renowned for his love of Brandy Alexanders even after the Lost Weekend was finally over. He got back with Yoko, and they had their first child shortly after.
