Jägerita Is The Margarita That Swaps Tequila For The German Liqueur
By AUTUMN SWIERS
A margarita combines tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and triple sec. The Jägerita, one lesser-known margarita variant out of hundreds, replaces the tequila with Jägermeister.
The Jägerita is a signature drink of world-class London bartender David Cordoba, and as a favorite drink of a great modern mixologist, it's as mind-blowing as you'd expect.
The German liqueur Jägermeister is made with 56 top-secret botanicals that add a strong herbal flavor to the Jägerita, making it very unlike the citrus-dominated classic marg.
Despite its stronger flavors, the average Jägerita has 20.87% ABV, roughly the same as a classic marg. Fans of herbal spirits like Aperol and Fernet will likely adore this drink.
Bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler told Small Screen Cocktails that the Jägerita is "[super herbal, super tart, I can't say enough about it". He, too, strongly recommends this drink.
