Is it Safe to Eat Frozen Eggs?
By KAREN HART
Not paying attention and accidentally putting eggs in the freezer instead of the fridge isn't an uncommon mistake, but after a Redditor shared their frustrations over the act, it led to a discussion about whether frozen eggs are still safe to eat or not. So can you salvage this mistake, or no?
No one wants to waste food, especially since an estimated 108 billion pounds of food are wasted per year in the U.S., according to Feeding America, If you've frozen an egg, check if it's cracked: if the shell is okay, you’re good to thaw it and eat ot, but if the shell is broken, it's time to toss it.
Another factor to consider is how you want to use your accidentally-frozen eggs. The USDA says that when egg yolks are frozen, they turn gel-like and become difficult to blend, which may lead to some resistance if you’re trying to make a birthday cake or a delicious meal of scrambled eggs.
