Is It Possible To Bake Dinner Rolls In An Air Fryer?
By LUCY CLARK
Air fryers work in a similar way to convection ovens, circulating very hot air with a fan to quickly cook your food with little to no oil required. Since its commercial release in 2010, cooks have been largely using the appliance to prepare traditionally deep-fried foods like french fries, but the air fryer can be used for baking, as well.
If you need to quickly bake some dinner rolls, but don't have space in the oven (or an oven at all), you can indeed use your air fryer. Since air fryers don't actually "fry" foods and are more like mini convection ovens, they work well to cook both frozen and fresh, homemade rolls in as little as five minutes.
If you’re using frozen dinner rolls, all you need to do is pop them in the basket of your air fryer, make sure they're evenly spaced-out and aren't touching each other, and brush them with butter or oil for a golden brown top. Then, set your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and cook for five minutes.
If you're working with fresh rolls, look for a 6-inch cake pan that fits inside your basket, oil the pan, and add your rolls, preferably of smaller size. Cook them at a lower temperature for five minutes, then remove, cover with foil, and cook for another five minutes; proceed with your next batch until all your dough is used up.
