Is It Necessary To Let Your Burgers Rest After Cooking?
It’s fairly common knowledge to let meat like a steak rest after cooking so its juices won't escape, but you may be wondering if this should be done with burger patties as well.
Though it’s a shorter rest compared to other meats, burgers do need to rest to allow the juices to distribute throughout the interior of the patties while the fat drains out.
When your burgers are done cooking, transfer them to a wire rack set over a sheet pan, cover them with aluminum foil, and let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Burgers rest for less time than other meats because they have less juice to distribute and tend to cook rather quickly, but a little patience is required nonetheless.
