Ina Garten's Most-Loved Side Dish Is An 'All-In-One' Masterpiece
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Whether your special occasion is in the warmer or colder months, chef Ina Garten loves making orzo with roasted vegetables year-round. It’s her “all-in-one side.”
Garten’s “all-in-one side” includes orzo (small pasta resembling rice), veggies, feta cheese, pine nuts, and lemon vinaigrette. She pairs it with grilled steak, chicken, or lamb.
To make Garten’s tasty dish, begin by roasting diced eggplant, yellow and red bell peppers, and red onion with olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
The next step is to cook orzo in boiling water which should only take nine minutes. Then, combine lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create a dressing.
Finally, you'll mix everything together and add diced feta, scallions, basil, and pignolis, aka pine nuts.
Once you've mastered the orzo dish, you can add your protein of choice. Garten likes to pair it with a rack of lamb, a recipe that Garten ensures is “incredibly easy to make.”
