After making her chicken Parmesan, Garten drizzles some of her homemade lemon vinaigrette dressing over lettuce leaves piled on top of the hot, crispy chicken.
For the vinaigrette, the celebrity chef uses only fresh lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. The salad is fresh and bright-tasting with the robust texture of the greens.
This salad is also easy to customize: add herbs, a few pine nuts, and/or shredded parmesan cheese to satiate your appetite further. Garten loves this recipe for its simplicity.
Garten says of her easy dish, "if a recipe isn't simple enough for me to do and do well and repeat and do it again the same way, it doesn't make it into a book."
