Ina Garten's Cocktail Serving
Tip Couldn't
Be Easier
By ANNA STAROPOLI
This past October, celebrity chef Ina Garten released her latest cookbook, “Go-To Dinners,” that consists of all kinds of recipes that aim to make cooking easier and more stress-free. Beyond her simple recipes, Garten also shares her effortless tip for pulling off the ultimate cocktail, where all you need to do is open your freezer.
To keep your cocktail at the perfect temperature, chill your glass ahead of time, leaving it in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes. Doing this can even replace ice as a means to regulate temperature, resulting in ice-cold, refreshing, and stronger cocktails that aren't diluted with water.
Garten recommends this simple but effective strategy in her recipe for her Pomegranate Spritzer, which she posted on her Barefoot Contessa website. To make the cocktail, use 2 cups of chilled sparkling water, 2 tablespoons of pomegranate juice, and 2 tablespoons of lime juice — and a freezer-chilled martini glass, of course.
