How To Rescue Dry Chicken
By KATIE LENHARDT
There are several ways to prevent the terrible taste of dry chicken, yet occasionally overcooked chicken can happen by accident. The good news is that there are a few techniques you can use to transform your chicken from parched to perfect.
The first technique in restoring moisture is to slice or shred leftover chicken and reheat it in a little chicken stock or broth. Warm your broth over medium heat until hot but not boiling, then add your shredded chicken and simply reheat it, being careful not to overcook it.
Don't be afraid to dip, dress, and slather on the sauce because many sauces, dressings, and dips are produced with an oil base that functions as a hero to save you from a dry chicken. If you don't want to sauce your chicken, you can combat dryness by adding a dip, such as hummus or salsa.
Sometimes chicken becomes so dry that using it as an ingredient in another meal is the only option. This may be the best remedy for overdone chicken, particularly when used in a dish with a rich sauce and other savory components, such as a hearty marinara, creamy Alfredo sauce, teriyaki chicken dish, or chicken risotto.
