How Much Stronger Is Dead-Eye Coffee Than A Regular Brew?
BY CORIN MJ BAE
A dead-eye coffee is the strongest "eye" coffee, a term used for brewed coffee with extra shots of espresso added. Dead-eye has about three times more caffeine than normal coffee.
According to the USDA, a single fluid ounce of brewed coffee has 12 milligrams of caffeine, so a cup would be around 72 to 96 milligrams. Dead-eye is around 262.8 to 286.8 per cup.
The FDA also says that the maximum recommended daily amount of caffeine is 400 milligrams for an adult with no other relevant health conditions, so be careful with dead-eye coffee.
You can never accurately estimate how much caffeine you're getting in one cup of coffee, so try to consume dead-eye as an emergency pick-me-up, not your daily drink of choice.
