How Many Scoops Of Coffee Grounds Do You Really Need Per Cup?
BY KAREN HART
When making coffee, the ratio of grounds to water that's considered the gold standard for the perfect cup is 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for each 8-ounce cup of water.
Coffee scoops are not a universal, one-size-fits-all option, so be careful not to rely on them. or consistent accuracy, break out your tablespoons and make certain to level them.
If this ratio is a little too strong for your palate, you can always dial it back to 1½ tablespoons of ground coffee. Refer to the 2:8 ratio as a guide and tweak as needed.
Use a measuring cup as a baseline for the amount of water and adjust as needed. Note that light roast coffee grounds require more water to extract their flavor than dark roasts.
