How Long Does Store-Bought, Opened Kombucha Last In The Fridge?
BY AUTUMN SWIERS
Unopened, refrigerated store-bought kombucha will last for one to two months. However, once open, it will only last in the fridge for up to a week.
While it might technically be safe to drink after a week, its quality and probiotic properties will diminish. The live cultures interact with the air and the fizziness fades.
Spoiled kombucha has a vinegary taste, visible mold, excessive cloudiness, and a thick or slimy consistency. Fuzzy green or pink patches of sediment are likely mold.
Additionally, a potent alcohol smell, excessive foam, and an abnormal, off-putting flavor are other signs to toss your kombucha out.
