How Long Canned Beer Actually Lasts And How To Store It Right
BY SIMONE GERBER
Canned beer has the added benefit of blocking beer from sunlight, meaning it can keep it tasting fresher for longer. Stored correctly, it can stay fresh for up to two years.
To maximize shelf life, store canned beer in a cool, dark place like a refrigerator or a cellar. Once the can is open, it will last a far shorter amount of time.
As with all carbonated beverages, beer sitting in an open can declines in quality quickly due to loss of carbonation. It will usually last between a few hours and a couple of days.
