How Long Can You Keep Properly Wrapped Steaks In The Freezer?
By SANDY BAKER
Typically, a steak should be stored for up to 6 months in the freezer to guarantee quality, but by taking certain precautions, steak can last in the freezer for a full year.
Wrap the steak tightly in plastic wrap, making sure the fit is snug and there are no holen, then wrap it again in parchment paper or foil to keep out the freezer’s dry air.
Put the steak into a freezer bag and squeeze out the air, which can be done by leaving just a small opening in the bag's top and submerging the bottom in cold water.
As long as you keep the meat stored at below-freezing temperatures, and allow it to thaw properly before cooking and eating it, the steak will maintain its juicy tenderness.
