How Long Can Unopened Red Wine Last Before Spoiling?
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
If you have a nice bottle of red wine and want to save it for a special occasion, you have between two and three years past its expiration to enjoy it.
Occasionally, a bottle of wine won't have an expiration date, so look for the vintage date and use that as the starting point for the two to three-year expiration window.
Wine lasts long thanks to the alcohol content and low sugar content. Red wine also contains more tannins than white wine, which helps the preservation of the drink.
