How Long A Jar Of Olives Lasts After Opening It
BY EMMA SEGREST
It's common belief that a jar of opened olives can remain fresh forever if kept in their salty liquid. However, in reality, they last about 12 to 18 months if stored in the fridge.
If your jar has been around for longer than the 12-month mark, you'll want to look your olives over to check for any signs of spoilage before enjoying them.
You can tell they’ve gone bad if there is an off-putting smell, discoloration, wrinkled texture, or visible mold. Either way, after 18 months, it's best to discard the jar.
