Homemade Empanadas Are A Breeze With This Tortilla Hack
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
Most homemade empanada recipes call for a few hours of your time since you have to make the dough and let it rest. To save some time and energy, make the dish using tortillas.
First, make the filling and scoop it onto a tortilla — it should be a generous helping, but not so big that there isn't extra room on the tortilla. Next, melt some butter.
Line the tortilla's border with melted butter using a pantry brush, then fold it in half and use a fork to crimp the round edge. Brush more butter along the fold's top.
Finally, pop in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes at 350 degrees F. Your empanadas may not taste exactly like the one made from scratch, but they will come quite close.
