Here's Where You Can Taste The Queen's Favorite Cocktail In Vegas
By ERICA ANDREWS
The late Queen Elizabeth II was said to have a modest daily diet, but some of her favorite treats were tea cookies, chocolate mousse, and marmalade sandwiches. She also enjoyed a nightcap of gin and Dubonnet, a classic cocktail that you can now find at a certain Vegas restaurant, where the staff is paying tribute to the queen.
To honor the queen's classic and excellent taste, Oscar's Steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel and Casino has added the Dubonnet cocktail to their menu. The drink is named "Queen Elizabeth II" and features gin, the wine-based French aperitif Dubonnet, and a half lemon wheel.
Plaza Hotel and Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel says, "We wanted to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II in our own way and share with our guests something that she was known to enjoy." Not only did Elizabeth II love the Dubonnet; it was also a favorite of her mother, which later made the drink extremely popular in London.
