In our ranking of family-sized frozen meals from 14 brands, the top spot was taken by Zatarain's Frozen Blackened Chicken Alfredo, which is large enough to feed six people.
The meal, which takes five minutes to prepare in the microwave, was among the pricier options we tried but is worth the extra buck or two. It has a well-rounded nutrition profile.
It offers the ideal calorie-per-portion ratio plus ample protein from the chicken and carbs from the pasta. Covered in cheesy Alfredo sauce, the penne pasta was perfectly al dente.
Seasoned with a Creole and Cajun spice blend, the blackened chicken truly stood out. The smoky, spicy, and zesty chicken breast perfectly complemented the rich Alfredo sauce.
