Here's How You Should Be Reheating Mac And Cheese
BY LAUREN ROTHMAN
Macaroni and cheese is a notoriously difficult dish to reheat due to the cheese sauce. For the best results when reheating, do it the way that you cooked it initially.
Reheat oven-baked mac and cheese in the oven. In a dish covered in foil, put the mac in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and warm it for 10 minutes until hot and bubbly.
To reheat stovetop mac in the oven, transfer it to an oven-safe container and add one tablespoon of milk per cup of pasta. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes.
Use the toaster oven for small amounts of mac. Preheat it to 350 degrees and bake your mac covered in foil for 20 minutes, then another 10 minutes uncovered.
To reheat stovetop mac in the toaster oven, place it in an oven-safe dish, pour some milk over top, and bake it covered in foil at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
To reheat on a stovetop, heat pasta in a pan or pot over medium heat for 10 minutes with an additional tablespoon of milk per cup of pasta, or more if it seems dry.
Microwaving is a slightly trickier technique. Heat mac and cheese this way by stirring in milk, covering with a lid, and heating in 30-second intervals until done.
