Here's A List Of All The President's Who Supposedly Didn't Drink Booze
BY GENE GERRARD
While some U.S. Presidents had reputations as hard drinkers, there were a few who didn't drink alcohol at all, including both Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Joe Biden has never touched alcohol, believing the substance would hinder his path to the presidency after watching his uncle Edward and brother Frankie struggle with drinking.
Similarly, Donald Trump is sober for fear he might be genetically predisposed to alcoholism after his elder brother Fred Jr. died of a heart attack caused by alcoholism.
The only other confirmed teetotaler was deeply religious Benjamin Harrison (1889-1893), who not only never touched the stuff but also kept it out of White House events.
Then there’s George W. Bush, who initially identified as an epic-drinker but quit drinking cold turkey on the morning after his 40th birthday at his wife’s urging.
Abe Lincoln and Rutherford B. Hayes also enjoyed an occasional drink, despite the Temperance Movement. James K. Polk followed suit and forbade alcohol from the White House.
