Grill Store-Bought Pound Cake For A New World Of Flavor
BY KAREN HART
If you find yourself with leftover Sara Lee or Entenmann's brand pound cake that's about to go stale, grilling it is a great way to breathe new life into your dessert.
All you need to do is butter each side of a few slices of pound cake and place them on grill grates above medium, indirect heat. Allow it to cook for a minute or two per side.
Grilling the cake will heat it up and bring out its flavor while adding a smoky element, for a warm, toasted dessert. If you don't have a grill, you can use a cast iron grill pan.
Top the cake with your favorite sliced fruit, a drizzle of chocolate or raspberry sauce, and/or a whipped cream topping to turn it into an elegant, delectable dessert.
