Give Store-Bought Frosting A Homemade Flavor With This Ingredient
BY AUSTIN HAVENS-BOWEN
Mixing a bit of cream cheese into store-bought frosting can make the frosting richer and taste like it’s homemade. It will add some tang and temper some of the sweetness.
This can really help since many brands are rather sweet and sugary. Cream cheese also contains fats, which will give the frosting a smoother texture so it's easier to spread.
To mix in the cream cheese, soften it first. Put your frosting in a mixing bowl and start mixing in spoonfuls of cream cheese until you reach your desired taste and texture.
