Give Hot Chocolate A Texture Boost With The Help Of Your French Press
BY WENDY LEIGH
Instead of simply mixing hot milk with chocolate or cocoa powder, use a French press to elevate your hot chocolate and create a creamy, velvety texture.
Add ground or powdered chocolate to the French press, followed by hot milk, and let it soak for a few minutes. Vigorously pump the plunger up and down for up to a minute.
The metal filter aerates the mixture, introducing air into the liquid and yielding a fluffy texture. Since the milk increases in volume, fill the container only about halfway.
The increased texture brings out the inherent sweetness of the milk, and you won't need to separate grounds since the powdered chocolate dissolves easily when aerated.
