Give Carrots A Sweet Simple Glaze For The Most Effortless Side Dish
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Butter and honey is an especially effective combination on roasted carrots, as it enhances the veggies' natural sweetness and adds the perfect amount of flavor.
Plus, roasting carrots as opposed to boiling or steaming them allows the vegetables to caramelize, which brings out their natural sugars.
To make the glaze, melt butter on the stove, add honey, and stir until they melt together. Spread the carrots on a baking sheet, pour the glaze, and toss until they're coated.
If you don't want to use honey but want something that draws out the carrot's sweetness in a similar way, you can swap for brown sugar, coconut sugar, maple syrup, or even agave.
