Get The Crispiest Oven-Baked Fries With One Simple Trick

Gaby Dalkin, founder of What's Gaby Cooking and Little Mouths, Big Palates, shared her secrets to getting the crispiest oven fries with us, and her number one trick is a must-try.
The trick involves soaking the spuds in cold water. "Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes! This pulls out excess starch so they crisp up better," she told Tasting Table.
She suggests drying the spuds before frying. As she puts it, “Pat them bone-dry before tossing with oil. If your potatoes are wet (even a little bit), they steam instead of crisp.”
