Fry Up Your Eggs In Chili Oil For A More Robust Breakfast

TikTok gets plenty of flack, but it’s one of the quickest ways to notice food trends like pesto eggs, or eggs fried in pesto. Now, a spicy variant of this dish is gaining traction.
The hashtag #chilioileggs currently has 17.9 million views on TikTok. Chili oil eggs are simply eggs fried in chili oil, but the recipe is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
In a video with over 200,000 likes, creator @snackqween uses Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chili Crisp to fry the eggs. To try this dish, first place a few teaspoons of the oil in a frying pan.
Heat the oil, crack in a few eggs, and let them snap and sizzle as they cook and soak up the spicy flavors. You can also drizzle a little oil on top of the eggs while they cook.
Crunchy and spicy on the outside, but soft and runny on the inside, chili oil eggs are great on toast, but you can also use them to top rice, ramen, or other noodle dishes.
For even more flavor, finish off the eggs with a little soy sauce, green onion, or even lemon juice, and your fried egg breakfast or quick lunch will be anything but boring.
