Ensure An Even Extraction With One Pour-Over Coffee Tip
BY JUNIPER FINCH
Pour-over coffee is an approachable, accessible way to make coffee, and you can ensure your brew comes out great by employing a spiral method when pouring.
After you set up your pour over, start by pouring your water in the center and then slowly spiral outwards to saturate the coffee evenly.
Stop just before reaching the filter and spiral back to the center. Avoid pouring directly on the filter as it will wick the water down into your mug without extracting any coffee.
Continue spiraling in and out, pouring continuously for about three minutes. Once finished, give your mug a swirl to mix the layers of coffee before enjoying it.
