Don't Pass Up This Cut Of Meat At A Brazilian Steakhouse
BY CATHERINE NYORANI
When dining at a Brazilian steakhouse, you need to try the fraldinha. Its name is derived from the Portuguese word fralda meaning flap or diaper, likely due to the steak's shape.
Fraldinha doesn't directly correspond with any one particular standard American cut of beef. It is sourced from the lower section of the cow near the hindquarters.
Apart from the beefy flavor, the fraldinha has extensive marbling that makes it very succulent and tender. Every bite is packed with juicy flavor without being overly fatty.
The Brazilian style of cooking steak on large skewers over open flames causes an intense direct heat, resulting in a deliciously crusty exterior with a tender and juicy pink core.
