Do Hot Chocolate Makers Actually Make A Better Cup Of Cocoa?
BY PEGGY AOKI
Hot chocolate makers promise a perfect cup of hot cocoa that is comfortingly warm and evenly mixed, but they may not be a worthwhile investment for everyone.
Hot chocolate makers are essentially electric warming pitchers with a stirring gadget. Some have adjustable heat selections or the ability to froth and warm plain milk.
However, many of these features have little practicality, and the average hot chocolate enthusiast may find them excessive. Plus, they come at a premium price.
The devices are also difficult to clean and maintain. Some features, like frothing milk, are better achieved with other tools, such as a steam wand.
If you decide to invest, make sure it can handle the ingredients you prefer. Check reviews for any mentions of difficulty cleaning or frequent malfunctions.
