Cut Pineapple Using The Spiral Technique And Create Less Waste
To cut your pineapple efficiently and avoid wasting any of it, try the spiral technique. Start out by removing the ends of the pineapple as usual.
Then, stand it upright and slice off the skin just enough to reveal the flesh to retain as much juice as possible. You'll notice the eyes line up diagonally in a spiral pattern.
Place your knife at an angle and make a cut about half an inch thick alongside two to four eyes, then move to the other side of the eyes and do the same.
Remove the string of eyes and repeat the process until the pineapple is clean. Although it will be tricky at first, this technique can be quicker and more efficient than most.
