Crispy Chicken Parmesan Is Even Simpler With An Air Fryer
BY GRETA PANO
If you struggle with soggy breading on your chicken parmesan when you cook it in the oven, the air fryer might just deliver the crispy results that you’re looking for.
The air fryer’s hot air creates a crispy breading on chicken while keeping the inside tender and moist, which prevents the breading from becoming soggy.
For the best results, start by tenderizing the chicken to about a half-inch thickness. This will help it cook evenly and reduce the chance of it drying out as it cooks through.
Once tenderized, coat the chicken in flour, egg, then dip it in breadcrumbs. Coat the bottom of the fryer with cooking spray to prevent the chicken from sticking.
For two 6 to 8-oz chicken breasts, cook for eight minutes on each side (or until they’re golden brown) before you remove them from the air fryer.
Once removed, line the air fryer with foil and spray with cooking spray. Put the chicken back in, cover it with sauce and cheese, and cook until the cheese is browned.
