Nespresso is more environmentally friendly than one might imagine. For one, Nespresso pods are recyclable thanks to the free recycling bags the company offers.
The company also offers paper-based capsules in Europe. More than that, a study at the University of Quebec found capsules may have a lower carbon footprint than other methods.
The mind behind the original Nespresso capsules was inspired when visiting Café Sant'Eustachio in Rome, which produced espresso shots that were heavily aerated.
Some feel that Nespresso produces a better-tasting cup more consistently than Keurig, which may be due to its high-pressure brewing or stronger coffee production.
