Canned Tomatoes And Beans Are All You Need For A Simple, Tasty One-Pot Dinner
BY JULIA HOLLAND
If you’re tired of easy meals like spaghetti and jarred pasta sauce, canned tomatoes and beans offer a delicious and affordable dinner that's more exciting, but just as simple.
Both of these canned ingredients are pre-cooked and have long shelf lives, making them the perfect sweet and savory protein and carb combo that comes together in a flash.
Use a Dutch oven or cast-iron skillet to bake the beans and tomatoes together in the oven. They become creamier with a more cohesive texture, and full of sweet and umami flavor.
You can choose from a variety of beans and tomatoes to create different variations of one-pot tomato baked beans. Give the dish different cultural twists with a few extra add-ins.
Try an Italian twist with cannellini white beans, herbs, onions, and mozzarella, or a Middle Eastern take with garbanzos, crushed fire-roasted tomatoes, and warm and earthy spices.
