Butter dip biscuits are perhaps better described by their other name, butter swim biscuits. As the name implies, they consist of delicious fluffy biscuits swimming in butter.
Instead of incorporating butter into the biscuit dough, you hold off until the biscuits are formed and placed in a pan with a healthy layer of melted, salted butter.
Though you may find the dough to make butter dip biscuits much stickier than other biscuit recipes, the butter the biscuit dough is set into will give irresistibly light results.
If you notice that some of the butter rises and rests on the batter's surface, don't worry — it will keep the biscuits moist and flavorful as they cook.
