An Underrated Way To Add More Protein To Your Diet
By TALIN VARTANIAN
Protein is not only essential for our survival; it also helps muscle mass development, revs up the metabolism, and decreases blood pressure. However, adding extra protein to every meal isn't always easy, and this unexpected way to add more protein to your diet involves a simple and versatile ingredient.
If you’re a fan of peanut butter, try powdered peanut butter instead. Powdered peanut butter is just ground-up roasted peanuts without their natural oils; it tastes just like peanut butter, but is more versatile and lower in fat, and can be added as a powder or paste to milkshakes, spicy peanut sauce, yogurt, and more.
Powdered peanut butter contains 3-4 grams of protein per tablespoon, which might not sound like a lot, but considering each tablespoon contains 25 calories and just one gram of fat, you’re free to add multiple scoops to your dishes. To make a paste similar to traditional peanut butter, just mix the powder with a bit of water.
