Alton Brown's Fridge Is So Chaotic He Almost Didn't Show It To Fans
By KATIE LENHARDT
If your refrigerator is less than organized, know that even pro chefs have fridges that are just as messy as yours — or possibly worse. In 2020, Alton Brown and his wife Elizabeth Ingram gave fans a look into the hot mess that is their fridge as part of their YouTube cooking show “Quarantine Quitchen.”
In the episode, Brown blames his overflowing fridge on a busy travel schedule, then hesitantly opens the door to reveal shelves brimming with leftovers, vegetables that seem to be on their last leg, various proteins, and mystery food containers tucked into every nook and cranny. A scream sound effect punctuates the reveal.
Luckily, Brown makes up for it by showing viewers how to clean out their own fridges and avoid food waste. He grabs delicata squash, corn on the cob, a head of cabbage, pork, andouille sausages, and herbs from his fridge and grills them all together, turning his overabundance of food into a mouthwatering meal.
