Alfredo Sauce Is The Easy Shortcut For Creamy, Delicious Casseroles
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
A hearty casserole is already an easy meal to make to feed a crowd, and rich and creamy Alfredo is a versatile addition that gives you an even better casserole in an instant.
Alfredo sauce brings richness and creaminess to any casserole, and it also provides the perfect backdrop to a myriad of strong flavors and global culinary influences.
The sauce is made of butter, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, so it will work in any casserole that plays well with these flavors.
All you have to do is stir the Alfredo into the usual ingredients for your casserole, then dump the whole thing into a dish to bake. Homemade or store-bought sauce does the trick.
If your sauce is a bit too thick, you can always thin it out with some water, broth, or even white wine. Feel free to also add extra black pepper, minced garlic, or fresh herbs.
Try using Alfredo in place of cream of mushroom soup in a green bean casserole. You can also combine it with tuna, olives, artichokes, and tomatoes for a Mediterranean dish.
