A Mayo Swap Is All You Need To Make Microwave Hollandaise
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
To make hollandaise sauce in the microwave, swap out the egg yolks for mayonnaise. Egg yolks are a key ingredient in most mayonnaise recipes, so it's the perfect shortcut.
When making this swap, substitute one egg with three tablespoons of mayo. If the recipe calls for three egg yolks, you'll need nine tablespoons of mayo.
Add all the ingredients to a microwave-safe bowl, then pop in the microwave for about 45 seconds. Take it out, stir the mixture, and microwave for another 45 seconds.
You can adjust the level of thickness by how much water you put in. For thicker sauce, leave as is, but for a thinner sauce, add a bit more water to the mixture.
