A Gas Station Is Responsible For Some Of Texas' Tastiest Brisket
BY JENNA WOS
Eating is undoubtedly the best part of any road trip, and if you're traveling through Texas, you can stop at a Buc-ee's, which sells some of the most popular brisket in the state.
Served on a hamburger bun, the brisket is either chopped or sliced, then topped with barbecue sauce, pickles, and onions. The gas station serves them in two sizes.
The regular one with 8 ounces of meat costs $6.99 and the XXL with 13 ounces of meat costs $12.99. To deliver the taste, the meat is mainly seasoned with salt and pepper.
This seasoning helps bring out the natural flavors. Then, they are smoked low and slow for 12 to 14 hours at a smokehouse that delivers the brisket to Buc-ee's stores daily.
Next, at the carving station, an employee clad in a cowboy hat slices and chops the meat and douses it in Buc-ee's Texas-style barbecue sauce. It is then assembled into a sandwich.
