A Coveted Luxury Wine Was Unexpectedly Spotted At Costco
BY CLAIRE REDDEN
Shoppers spotted a six pack of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2009 Collection at a Costco location in San Francisco, listed for $40k in 2022 and 2024 (for a pack of four bottles).
Hailing from Burgundy, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2014 Collection is known for being the most expensive wine sold at auctions, with an average price tag of $20k per bottle.
The Romanée-Conti label dates back to 1232. Its vineyard located in the center of Burgundy has soil packed with limestone and clay, which give its wines a distinctive terroir.
